Tweety understandable why you didn't post, hope the next shift is a lot easier

NJ22 I think the hummingbirds here have left for the Winter

TMB that's even colder than it is here

Stars a mattress cover would definitely help, glad the laundry is finally done

Crunch moving to FL would avoid the Winter problem

Ado I hope IT can solve that problem

Since I didn't do anything outside yesterday and wasn't going to lunch with dad, I decided it would be a good day to cook and bake.  So I made cookies in the morning and potato leek soup in the afternoon.  The snow stopped by the morning so I got the car cleaned off and ran a few errands.  Tried to do all the running around yesterday given how cold it will be today.  Exercised and watched Svengoolie

It's -7 this morning, so glad I only have to go out twice.  I'm ushering at church so will have to leave a bit earlier than usual for that.  And heading out this afternoon for an event at a local bar advertised by the gay group, a mixer for LGBT people over 35.  Not sure what it'll be like but will give it a try.  But other than that, am staying in

We'll have similar temperatures until Wednesday,  when it will start warming up.  Will be back to near normal temps in a week, but the snow will start again then

The sky is blue, the sun is shining, and the wind is very gusty; I think it is supposed to get into the low 50's.

I'm pleased as punch and pickled tink, that Momo didn't pee anywhere she wasn't supposed to pee. I brought her down to the den and gave her breakfast, and went back up to make a cup of coffee. When I came back down, her breakfast was gone and she'd taken care of all her biznezz on the pee pad. But now it is time to get Nannie up, and I'm hoping for dry bed-linens from her, as well.

Yep, her bed is dry; only one portion of her pant-leg was wet; I changed her pull-up and pads, put on a dry pair of pants and tossed the slightly wet pants into the washing machine to be ignored until another day. ('Schultzy' would say, "I see nuthing ... nuthing!")

I had to cut down a poster (watecolor print) to fit a new poster-holder-frame ....of course, now the ones from Wally-World are somewhat smaller than the one that was on it, which I bought at the now defunct K-Mart. Anyway, what a pain in the patoot it is to slide the side 'holders' over the plastic, the poster and the cardboard backing! I gave up for the time being; don't want to get more frustrated and ruin it. Had to secure the little hanging device on the back of different poster-frame. I used small spots of super-duper glue, black electrical tape and prayer on that one, and am waiting for it to dry; don't want to hang it too early and have the whole thing fall apart. Actually I coulda-shoulda had a pro do it, but maybe it will turn out alright. I didn't measure twice / cut once ? so I hope I don't end up cussing about it.

Nannie is restlessly resting; half-way dreaming, sleep-sewing, and pulling her legs/knees up and down. It's those stupid slippers she insists on wearing, where the rolled edge on the back of the slippers pressing on her Archille's tendon is what makes them uncomfortable. I've tried variations of positions of pillows under her legs, but nothing satisfies, and she won't agree to trying another style from her slipper collection. ? So, she is suffering from her own stubborn-ness. Too bad, so sad. She starts to fall asleep ... her mouth falls open, she gives out with a loud snore and sorta halfway wakes herself up, moves her legs and feet up and down again, and she frowns, and repeats. Maybe one of these cycles, she will actually go completely asleep and I can go back upstairs to continue making my new room tidier and do more of the arranging of it to my liking. Still want to put the bed skirt on the bed, but since I have already made up the bed, I am going to wait (maybe) until another time when SiL is here to assist me. Hope to talk with her later to see what day/time she can relieve me at Nannie-care this week.

Thinking of trimming my hair, or at least trimming my bangs anyway, as they are dragging on my eyelashes. I had asked SiL about possibly doing a dry trimming, but did you know that the reason many hairdressers don't like to do a dry-hair cut is that it dulls their scissors? I didn't know that. My hair actually does come out better with a dry cut, sooooo, that's why I may go ahead and do it myself. If there is one area in the back that isn't quite even, she can use MY scissors to snip it!

Going to nosh on a little something, and then go back upstairs to putz and putter.

Nannie is ZONKED! Pretty soon I will turn on the 6 o'clock news, wake her up, and bring some supper down to her.

The poster 'fixes' didn't work, so I will look on line to find a local framer who can do something with them. I want to be able to put them up on my wall.

Got some of the areas of the new bedroom picked up and straightened out. It was the kind of picking up you do by putting like-things together in a box and placing the box in the other room, to be dealt with later on! ?

Okie-dokie, I am going to turn on the TV and begin the supper routine.

It's a heat wave here! All the way up to 26! And sunny and calm, at least for about another hour. I didn't need to trade out the hummingbird feeders today. The little heater doodad that uses a C7 bulb is keeping it thawed. Dogs have been in and out repeatedly, sans coats, to tell the squirrels not to eat all the bird seed. The dishwasher drain line is frozen, so we are having to hand wash dishes. Dh cut the tip of his thumb off the other night, so I am washing. The skin on my hands is drying out, and I fear they are going to crack soon, which is why dh usually does the dishes. I washed our sheets and thoroughly vacuumed and dusted our bedroom. I have been having terribly itchy eyes and sneezing at night, so I hope this helps.

I got the paperwork from the bank to report that our house is paid off. I'm going to set up an automatic transfer to savings to take the place of the escrow that used to pay taxes and insurance. dh had this convoluted scheme of setting up new accounts and cr@p with Edward Jones, but I just nodded and will do it my way. I need to call the insurance to switch the bill to me, but this can't be done online. I just don't want to forget to call on Tuesday.

We were sent a email and facebook notice last night asking electric and gas customers to conserve during the cold snap. Actions like turning down your heat a couple of degrees, postponing running your dishwasher, and clothes washer and dryer, and turning off lights that weren't needed. The neighbors group on facebook about lost their minds, thinking this is a government plot, triggered by people charging their electric cars. In reality, there was a problem with natural gas storage south of here, and this was a temporary thing.

Annie, I hope they can fix your data upload problem. That sounds like a mess.

G'day!

Glad I wasn't in charge today as the charge had six patients and stayed behind all day.  I had six as well but got it done.

One of our techs did a no-call no show, after calling in sick a couple of days earlier in the week.  I hope she is quitting or gets fired.  She's been in trouble with her attendance before.  I don't get some people.

It's 55 degrees and the heat is one but I won't complain.

Off now for a couple of weeks.  Getting a root canal tomorrow.  Great way to start a vacation.

Wow, a root canal. You really know how to relax. LOL.

5° out and the dog (Dory) still wants to go out every hour or two. Darby goes when Dory goes but she doesn't know why she's out there. They both will put their noses to the ground and want to check out every inch of the yard. There were very light flurries today but mostly it was just a very cold, sunny day.

Got all my laundry done and the kitchen is clean. We had a shepherd's pie (or cottage pie, I guess, since I used beef, not lamb). Good cold-weather meal. Tomorrow is Hubs' 65th birthday. We'll have a Stouffers lasagna. And I should get a brownie mix or make a giant choc chip cookie.
