Ado glad your flight wasn't delayed too long

Stars that's true, you do have a lot to do, I wouldn't worry much about cleaning

NJ22 that seems a common reason why people don't want to get rid of stuff

Did some baking in the morning yesterday.  Due to the predicted snow dad didn't want to do lunch and stay in instead.  So I ran a bunch of errands and went out to lunch on my own.  Exercised and watched Danny Kaye in Hans Christian Anderson.  Was good but not as good as White Christmas or The Court Jester.  In this one there was less humor and Kaye did very little dancing, two of his strong suits

Today will do cooking before church.  After church will stop home, then return to church to help set up and then clean up for a music event, local jazz group will be performing.

Will be in the upper 20's today, snow should stop after the morning.  Then it gets pretty cold after today

G'Morning~ And it IS still morning! Momo woke me up at 10:30, barking; but it wasn't because Nannie was up. I guess it was the wind making things rattle and whoosh. We are having gusts of wind from 17-25 MPH. (Spell-check or AI said we were having GUESTS of wind! Who invited them??) Temps will range from 59-67 and there's an 88% chance of rain, It rained crazy-hard last night and we had a couple of booming rolls of thunder, too. I think I slept pretty good, except I can tell you I raided the fridge last night at 3:45 AM for a few bites of cold pizza. No, spell-check, I did not RAISE the fridge! It is quite annoying for the laptop to ASSUME what I meant! Most of the time I re-read and edit my posts because of this oh-so-helpful tendency to have words inserted that *I* did not type!

Haven't heard from SiL regarding how her mom is doing, if she's still in hospital or what the plan is for continuing care, Squashing my brain to stop the 'wishing' about Nannie; it's not very nice. (Devil, get thee behind me!)

Don't have a particular agenda for today. Will take it as it comes, as if there's any choice! Won't tell y'all of which two songs were in my head when I woke up.....and I will say "your welcome" in advance because I am NOT going to plague you with ear-worms today!

Okay, that's all I've got at the time being. Stay tuned in case it gets, um, 'interesting' here in The Twilight Zone!

This afternoon, the agenda has turned out to be (and it has still not ended) walking Nannie to the bathroom because she has to "you know". So, in 2 and 1/2 hours I have walked her in to the toilet ELEVEN times, but she never did do any "you know". Nope! She had a laxative stool softener this morning, so it may be her guts are cramping a little, but I checked "up there" a few times and there was nothing at all waiting to make an appearance. After the third time I told her she has to sit on the toilet for longer than 30 seconds if she is wanting some results. Then I tried massaging her lower belly, and having her lean left and then right, and then forward, thinking "it" would work its way down to the point of egress. Alas. Nuthin' ! But there is no sense in me getting irked with her. However by me not saying ANYTHING to her, she gets even worse, like I am SUPPOSED to get mad at her. I told her it is not my belly and not my bowels, so I can't tell if she really has to "you know" or not. And I can't do a D&C of her bowels. The last time we tried a small enema, then a regular size enema, with no results. There are no enemas here, otherwise I could give her....what my mother used to call an "H+HSSE" ....hot and high soap-suds enema....   I would bet she would not care for THAT! Anyway, she has been eating lots of fiber/fruit and veggies, and drinking plenty of fluids. We've walked....but inside, because she said the wind is too strong and too cold for her to want to walk outside. She keeps giving me LOOKS, I guess because I am being uncharacteristically quiet about the matter at hand. If only it was "at hand"!!      I told her I was not a magician and have no more tricks up my sleeves presently. And I did NOT say that I am NOT going to waste my time being angry about her repeated trips for nothing, but I decided to heck with it, being angry only continues to make me angry. (like begets like) so I ain't a'doin' it. I'm sorry for her troubles but I can only do so much. Guess I will keep prune juice in the pantry from now on; we have apple sauce, and butter, Maybe for supper, I will give her a big bowl of raisin bran cereal with fruit in it.  If nothing occurs before tomorrow, I will call the doc and ask for a prescription for some rectal TNT.

She goes to daycare tomorrow, maybe that will help. (............help ME anyway!)

Hate to leave y'all in suspense, but I'm offa here for a while.....

No Stars, your post about the bowel focus reminded me of something learned MANY years ago, as a new nurse: a 3-H enema: High, Hot, and Hellofalot!

I didn't get to sleep till after 3:30, so slept in till 9-ish.  We arranged to drive on Tuesday to visit friends, maybe play some music (she plays guitar and is a GREAT country singer!), and then have dinner together.  I decided to bake some of the spice cookies and pumpkin dip, -- kinda belated Christmas cookies, LOL!  Naturally, I was low on granulated and powdered sugar, and butter -- all needed for the cookies and dip.  So I took a little trip to the grocery store, then set to, making cookie dough.  It is now in the fridge, firming up.  The dip is in containers (one for friends, one for us) in the fridge too.  I also cooked up some low-carb rotini noodles, which we will have for dinner with the Mushrooms Paprikash.  After dinner I will bake half the cookies and "box" them for travel when we go on Tuesday.  We have tomorrow planned for something else, so baking needs to be done tonight.  I will also change sheets and towels later...  sometime...

Ado, glad you are enjoying SNL show!

Joe, I enjoy watching Danny Kaye, he was so very talented!  He always made me smile and/or laugh!  How was the jazz music?  That sounds like fun!  Stay safe as you travel in those cold temperatures!

No Stars, sounds like Nannie is getting her steps in, to the bathroom and back, back and forth, back and forth...  What else can ya do?  Nothing, really.  You are doing whatever you can.  Maybe tomorrow she will forget to be fixated on her bowels.  I have to cuss you out (with a grin 😉 ), as you got me started on doing crossword puzzles!  I found some online ones, and have been doing them.  Am hoping they keep my brain sharp.  Well, sharper than if I didn't do them, that is.

Have a good evening!

Darn it all, I FORGOT that was on tonight! RATZ! 'Cause I REALLY wanted to see it!  Now, if I had it on and I was watching it, I would be much MORE aggravated with Nannie than I have been today, because she would have certainly ruined it for me. Oh well.

I have to do crossword puzzles to keep my brain busy when I would otherwise be screaming MAD from spending my life as Nannie's nanny. It is my very BIG coping mechanism, ya know.
