Dianah here's hoping the RV is ready in time for your trip

Stars that does seem like a good plan for the medicine

Hi Tweety

NJ22 a flower and garden show sound nice

Ado it is very helpful, especially if it's fairly hot as bath water cools down quickly

Yesterday wasn't too busy.  Got my coffee, did the laundry, and went to the dentist.  Thankfully nothing needed except cleaning and X-rays.  Then lunch with dad.  Exercised and watched part of Svengoolie, he had The Duel but I lost interest at the halfway point

Thinking about a session at a local yoga studio I saw advertised on a facebook page for local residents.  Scheduling might be tricky but would like to go at least once or twice

Also have been thinking back on my career, and I seem to have put a lot more into it than I've gotten out of it.  Has given me more to think about, might have to reflect more on long term plans

Today should be fairly quiet too.  Will go to church early for adult education and stay after for coffee hour.  Nothing to do there this Sunday except some announcement.   Will do the cooking afterwards

Will be a bit warmer today, in the 40s

Hello all!

We got in around 10pm from the memorial service, which began at 3!  We showed up at 2pm, to be there for set-up and instructions from our friend C, the bereaved.  He had about 20 musicians there, from all genres, all walks of life, each with specific instructions for which song he wanted them to play/do.  He had requested our band do our arrangements of Just A Closer Walk With Thee, I've Just Seen the Rock of Ages, and O When Shall I See Jesus?

The service commenced at 3pm, with the usual prayer, short life story, a couple ministers giving their thoughts, a time for friends and family to take to the microphone with their personal remembrances.  Then the music began - probably at 4pm, and lasted till 7pm!!  After closing prayer, ppl could go into the little Fellowship Hall and pick up a take-out box lunch.  A lot of the musicians continued jamming, with our friend C right in the middle of it.  He seemed a little shaky at times and, understandably, emotional.  But he was obviously fed by the music and the memories.  It was a very moving service.

After the service we met fiddler K and her SO and his son for a late dinner at a nearby restaurant.  And, then, got home around 10pm, VERY tired.  I'm sure C was exhausted as well.  We will be in touch with him in the coming days, and hopefully set up a time to jam with him.  And visit.  I spoke with several of the church members, who each said they had been in touch with C, checking on him.  It was comforting for me to know others who lived closer were keeping track of him.

Today we slept in (big surprise!) and I really have no plans.  I guess Monday is a holiday.

Have a good day!

Hi.
whew, Dianah, that sounds like an exhausting day.
I was pretty tired, too. I took a hot shower and climbed into bed. The hotel elevator was acting very weird this morning. It apparently has a new system where you have to indicate what door you want before you get in. We did that but it didn't stop at our floor, it just kept going up. So we got off, and waited a long time to get on again. Dh heard in the lobby that there were lots of frustrated guests. We stopped at a historic industrial museum, focused on Seattle. It was quite interesting talking about fishing, lumber, and shipyards and the coal industry. We plan to stop at one plant nursery and then home. Weather as usual is gray and sprinkling.

Ha! I found some crispy round balls of crackers from a company named MOON CHEESE, and the flavor is "Oh My Gouda". Hubby is now addicted to SONOMA Bacon/Cheddar Crisps, something else I found when shopping the other day. They are kind of pricey ($3.99 pkg., which is NOT a big package) but what the hey, gotta treat ourselves sometime!

Hubby came in after lunchtime, reeling. I said, "You are SMASHED and you better not fall anywhere, at any time!"

He has decided what we need to do is find someone to take care of Nannie for a week or two, or get her in a nsg home (my preference) so we can drive up to Maine to visit my sister and her husband. He said we can take some $$$ out of Nannie's investments. "And I promise I won't drink." // My idea is this is a possibility AFTER the doc returns from vacation and hubby goes through the at-home detox and is off the bottle. But not until. And it certainly depends on the weather forecasts-----and I mean, NO snow predicted for up in New England!

We'll have to stay in a motel because my sister is (tho' she's NOT, if you ask her) a hoarder. Oh, she has plans for flea markets and ebay and all the stuff she has in multiple storage places in addition to in her house and the sheds on her property. But it is SLOW going, and she won't let anyone help her. She has been "trying to clean it up" for a long time now, and to tell you the truth I feel sorry for her. She has wanted to get out of that mobile home that is OLD, for quite some time. The property is worth a good bit, I think, just not the trailer, and just not the junk all around it. She was vastly insulted when my younger brother was cruel enough to tell her that I said she should just set fire to the place and walk away. Too much sh*t in her wheelbarrow, doncha know.

I've already decided what we will have for supper: he and I will have beef pot pies, and Nannie will get a stuffed, baked potato, which she loves. I can cut up some ham to add to it, and some green peas.

All for now....

Hey, all...

I found a plant for the office.

The church service was good, although our pastor is away to officiate her son's wedding. Made a shepherd's pie that the family enjoyed.

Back to the office to finish a report for the med staff meeting tomorrow. I had some good information last month on cultures that didn't get processed by the commercial lab we use but now I can't remember where I got that information. I've searched to no avail. Will check with the lab manager to see if he has any ideas.

It seems fairly common that I solve a problem only to forget how I solved it the next time it comes up. I guess I need to be taking better notes for myself.
