Tweety glad the pain is better

Stars glad she is helping today

NJ22 I think as I get older my feet need supportive shoes more

Dianah that does seem true

Got out early for bird watching yesterday, didn't see much, and was pretty cold.  Came home and ran errands and had lunch with dad.  In the evening worked on the shopping list for next week and relaxed.  Had some problems sleeping last night, had to get up and read a bit more before I felt tired enough to sleep

Today will not be going to church, as I'll be in church for Christmas Eve.  Instead will go to the Arboretum and then do the cooking for the week, a crock pot eggplant parmesan.  Haven't used the crock pot in months, should be interesting.  Might do some laundry as well

Going to be colder today, in the mid 20s.  Though it should be sunnier and less windy than yesterday

Good morning!

J22, I agree that getting old isn't for wussies.  I'm not ready for that as it is happening to me as we speak.  LOL

The pain that he said I would have that wouldn't last long in my right quadrant is still there and that's annoying and disappointing me.  But I am doing relatively well overall and definitely not as miserable as surgery day evening.  Everything is managed with tyelonol and ibuprofen still.  Slept decently with my benzo,  getting up a couple of times.  Waffles got fed early at 5AM because I wanted to get some more rest.  She's still in bed and about to get back on her cone.  I do hope they let me leave the cone off.  She has an appointment tomorrow.

Taking it easy isn't easy for me.  But I just read, looked at social media reels, and watched some TV.  Made some tacos for dinner and did three walks outside (4 if you count walking around the grocery store).  Today will be more of the same.

Hope everyone has a great day.

Hello all!

Joe, I love eggplant parmesan!  Hmmmm, may have to look up a recipe and make some!

Tweety, hope the pain finally goes away.  You are used to being more active, yes!  I hope, after the appointment, you can leave Waffles' cone off.

I slept OK last night.  Tonight we will attend a Dickens-style Christmas dinner, with singers and players in period costumes.  It's a nice seasonal treat.  We are planning to go dapper.  🙂

Rain should develop on Tuesday, continuing through to Friday.  I'm not complaining.  I hope you all have a good and safe Christmas.  And a good afternoon/evening!

57 degrees, partly cloudy. I got up and took my meds and then woke up again at 12:30 PM. Nannie was slumped over asleep in her recliner, so I got her up and changed her wet PJ's for dry clothes, BOTH shirt tops I put on her are long-sleeved so maybe she won't be fiddling with them all day long. I hope!

My checking is overdrawn something wicked, so thank goodness the SS check will be deposited tomorrow and eat up the overdraft and the late fee. Then I'll have to see how much of the bills to be paid will be hurting the final balance. Whooppeeeee. (NOT!) It looks to be another 'thin' month financially. Depressing.

Found out yesterday, after trying to explain to SiL how I wanted my hair cut.......kind of a pageboy, she told me "We call that an 'undercut"....So, after all these times of telling her I want the underlayers shorter than the top layers, and she tells me this. So, I said, "Yes!" and then this morning my hair, after I brushed it, showed very obviously that the top layers were once again shorter than the underlayers, so the stick-straight top layers do NOT curl under the bottom layers, they want to just stick out over the underlayers. When she cuts my hair while wet, that's what happens. Hair SHRINKS when you cut it wet, unless you are VERY CAREFUL and aware of that fact. PHOOEY! But she has said she can't cut dry hair. Huh. I really wish I had a mirror arrangement so I could cut my hair myself, while it is DRY! Oh well, like I say, nobody here really knows me so I just tolerate the cut, with another one of my cussing expressions  which is "FUDGE RIPPLE!"

One day I will have happier posts, One day, but I have no clue of which one.

I don't know what would happen if I tried to cut my own hair, but it might be good for a laugh. My astigmatism is so bad I can draw a straight line, so I would like I used hedge shears. I've been letting my hair stay long so I can just pull it back, but I am going to try shorter at next month's appointment.

I just ordered tickets for youngest ds and grandson, and me and dd, to see Phantom of the Opera next May. It will be a Christmas gift.

Eldest ds stopped by to drop off the pressure washer. Good thing, because dh was about to blow his top about his mom and sister. He has been increasingly anxious with the holiday, and if something doesn't go his way, he becomes quite irate. He hung up on his mom, and she tried to call me, and I don't want any part of their drama. This is one of the things I hate about holidays. dh's family carries a lot of grudges and resentment about the past, and it usually bubbles up at this time of the year.

I am also on the naughty list because one of the dogs peed on dh's dirty clothes.

But it's not raining, so that is a good thing. I don't know what to make for dinner. I bought ravioli last night, and dh ate half of one, and refused the cheesy cauliflower. I hope the mood around here lightens up soon.

This has been one of the longest, slowest days; arms on the clock-faces are reluctant to move ahead, and I feel impatient. I still have to wash the dishes and straighten up the kitchen after I put Nannie to bed. She is once again spending her time watching TV taking to task people's hair, clothes, size, and anything else you can think of by just looking at a person you don't know and have never met.
