It's been raining off and on, but at least the temp is above 50. 51, to be precise, LOL. It's been a domestic goddess, sort of day. Laundry, vacuum, dusting, decluttering. I bought some concert tickets on line this morning for a concert in October to go see Pink. I'm taking dd as a delayed birthday present. Her birthday is tomorrow, she will be 42. Wow.
Oof, Joe, seems like putting off cycling was a good choice. I find with apps like Yelp or Google maps, that I can find some interesting places to eat. Of course, it's always nice to ask local residents.
dh is out shopping. I'm sure he'll be home soon and ask the perennial "what are we doing for dinner?" question, meaning what I have I planned? And I haven't planned anything. phlttt. He cooked salmon and chicken last night, it was ready to eat at 9 pm. He's got his days and nights mixed up, but jeesh, that seems awfully late to eat.
G'day!
Joe, hope you're enjoying your getaway.
I'm a huge Pink fan. I think she's probably the best female vocalist of the 2000's. I have all her CDs. She puts on a great show I hear.
Spent time with my sister today. I bought her lunch at a nice, albeit expensive, vegan restaurant. Then we went to visit my best friend and we had coffee and went to the beach for a while. She seemed fine but did go on about her daughter cutting her out of her life, along with her grandkids. That has to hurt. It didn't seem to me to sour our good time with me telling her that I was bothered by her coming to town without telling me. When I mentioned her not showing up at my parents when they expected her, she blamed their forgetfulness and claims she had told them a change in plans. Whatever.
Made a pasta dish for dinner and will settle in for the evening.
Hope all are well.
Tweety, good you had a nice visit with your sister (in spite of the undercurrent of wonderings). Hi George!
nursej22, good on ya for decluttering!
We got up a little earlier than usual, and got the pets fed and the morning chores done. Then left around 11 to get up to Oak Glen. It was 75 degrees there, with a slight wind most of the time. We played in the shade, so by the end of it all, dh's fingers were "frozen!"
We met up with 10 others, and played in a circle: two mandolins, three fiddles, one guitar (plus me), three banjos (including dh), and a keyboard. One mandolin player switched between mando and guitar. One fiddler switched between fiddle and harmonica. Dh switched between banjo and mandolin. One banjoist did clawhammer style, the other did an old-fashioned style, and dh did his own style; none did classic Earl Scruggs style banjo. We did a lot of fiddle tunes, some bluegrass tunes, a couple blues pieces, some old-timey tunes. It was a lot of fun, and we played for three hours! Dh and I left around 3:30 (after buying some apple pie and peanut brittle in the little store). Stopped for dinner at a steakhouse. Just got home around 6.
This will be a quiet evening, as we are tired!
Have a good evening!

Stars it's good that you're not letting yourself get stuck doing things for him
Tweety I have to do some more CEUs starting this month, need a bunch by next year
NJ22 it does seem to have been a colder Spring, plants slow to emerge
Dianah hope you can get the meds tomorrow
Overall the trip has gone well. The exception is the weather, which has been in the 30s and 40s with snow and sleet and a little rain. Has been quite cloidy too, which dampens the spirit a bit
But I have been able to do pretty much everything I planned to do, and have managed to meet up with 2 people. Trying to meet up with a 3rd, but he's proving hard to get hold of and I have to check out in 2 hours. Did briefly see a sandhill crane in flight, whicch was nice
Next time I think I'll come a week or two later, to help avoid colder weather. Will also look for a new restaurant to try, getting a little bored of my usual one
Going to get up to the 40s today, the rain and snow should hold off
