Summer 2008 Chemistry

I wasn't sure if I saw a summer chem thread yet so I thought I would go ahead and start one! I start my 6 week class on July 1st!!! Can't wait to get to know all of you!!! :heartbeat

Hi! This is my first time here and I just started my 6 week Chemistry class too! Where do you go to school?

I start Chemistry in the fall...so I might following along just to get a jump start if that's ok with you guys.....My Prof wrote the book we will be using in class....scary! LOL

Hi! This is my first time here and I just started my 6 week Chemistry class too! Where do you go to school?

How is it going for you? I go to school at University of Nebraska at Kearney but the last few summers I have taken generals over the summer at WNCC at home. I've heard good things about my teacher so I am hopeful but nervous!!!!! We start in 9 days... but who's counting?! lol ;)

Well, if your prof knows enough to write a book, he must be a pretty good teacher! So that's something to look forward to! :D I think chemistry is just a scary class no matter the situation. I am pretty much planning on kissing my 4.0 bye-bye this summer! Although getting it done will be a great feeling for me because I have been dreading it for so long! Who knows, it could end up being a really fun and interesting class!!! We can all hope anywho!!! :cool:

Yep, I am sure my 4.0 will take a nose dive as well. I am taking Chem with A & P. I have already purchased the Chem books and have been reveiwing them...lots of math in there....my least favorite subject....study,study, study will be on the agenda.

I am actually taking a "hybrid" course is where info (syllabus, notes, etc) are on the internet and we go to class on Saturday for labs and tests. No lecture...basically learn on your own. It is a semester condensed into 6 weeks with 5 Saturday labs and tests every Saturday except the first week. This is the third week...have had 2 labs and one test so far. Got a 97% on the first test, but it was HARD! Haven't gotten the labs back yet but think I did well on them. 3 tests and 3 labs left. 3-4 chapters of material on test each week! Very condensed but I can't stand Chemistry and would rather be miserable taking a condensed class for 6 weeks than to have to take a whole 19 week semester.

I have some great A & P websites that were really helpful when I took it last semester. If anyone hasn't taken it and wants the sites, let me know!

Mine is a 6 week class as well. People think I'm crazy but I love taking science classes in the summer because you work your butt off and get it done quickly! I'm taking A&P this fall and I would love your websites!!!

UGH when I read "Lots of math" it almost made my stomach hurt.... I HATE math!!! lol I'm hoping my love of science will overshadow my loathing of mathematics!!!

UGH! Math...I would love websites for A&P if they are available.....Thanks....wish I could find some on Human Biology....cells, etc

well I did it ! I've never ever did Chm before and I studied hard and got an A for the class and I did it in 7 weeks yeahh !!
