Summer 2021 ATL Nurse Residency Programs

Published

Hey,

I just wanted to create a thread so we can share where we are applying and if/when we hear anything back. I applied to WellStar with my first choice being the ATL campus and ED. I plan to apply to Grady and Piedmont when their application opens in the next few months. Any one else start applying?

I just received the email from Grady also! I hope they accept my work experience as some of the required hours for specialty. My school did not give us an option to go to the ED (which is where I applied to).

I think they should

I received an email too. Has anyone’s status change on their application? Mine still says completed

Hey everyone! I’m from out of state and was wondering if anyone could provide insight on which hospital is the best? I honestly just want a job ? But I would like to hear people’s opinions. I’m interested in L&D or Mother/Baby.

I also received the email from Grady about reviewing apps.

Has anyone gotten an interview with northside? Does anyone know if they are doing in person or online interviews?

@nurse0521 hey! They're online and @NCNURSE2021 honestly, Northside was my dream hospital because they deliver more babies than any other hospital in the country. BUT it really depends on you. I decided to go with a smaller local hospital because its a slower pace and its a mix of L&D and Mother Baby so I feel I may learn and retain more information at a slower pace. And they are only accepting 2 new grads so I'll get a lot of attention. I'll probably try to go to Northside in the future for sure. Grady is also great experience! I've heard that the Birth Place in most hospitals is pretty good!

I know that was a book but I hope that it helps!

For anyone who's had an interview anywhere, are they all via zoom or phone? Or are some in person?

All of my interviews have been on zoom (for northside, Emory, CHOA) however my friend had an in person interview for NGHS but that’s the only in person interview I’ve heard of!

Thank you for the info! I'm in South Georgia so I'm nowhere near any of these hospitals!

Also, I just finished submitting all my applications yesterday. About how long did it take from the time you submitted your application to hear something back?

I think you should be good since the first interviews will very likely be on zoom or over the phone then if they want to move forward with you as a candidate they might do an in person interview but that depends on the location because I’ve also heard of people not having any part in person and still getting an offer!

For everyone who applied to Piedmont, does your application say "completed"? I still have not heard anything since the phone interview and the recruiter has not returned my emails.

Is anyone else having this problem?

I too received a phone screen but that’s it. I was told if the manager wanted to set up an interview, they’d reach out. My application still says completed. It’s not just you! I applied for pre-op, intra-op and pacu though so I’m assuming not high priority.
