When I graduated I didn't make a big deal because it was a second degree. But a friend (not that close) is graduating from nursing school next week and I want to get her something that would be a good graduation present. I'd like to keep it relatively inexpensive because shes not a close friend. What do you guys think would be good?

My favorite gift was a lapel pin that had a nurses hat and it said Nurses, we care. It was affordable and it was appreciated.

Just having my family there to see me graduate from nursing college was gift enough for me. :biggringi
I received a plaque with a nursing poem on it, an after graduation party at a fancy hotel ballroom...served dinner...cake...nice!
You could buy a nursing tote bag and fill it with the things nurses use on a regular basis with their patients. I would have loved one of those gifts.

A good gift for a new nursing grad would be a new drug handbook. All nurses should have a new drug book.
Hemostats, penlight, pens, highliters, a clipboard are all good gifts for a new nurse too!

This is a great idea. I just bought one at a student price and it was fairly cheap. :roll
