I will be taking the NLN RN Pre-Entrance exam on the first quarter of next year. I bought the book from the NLN (2009 Edition, "they really need to update this material".) and plan to use it for studying for the exam. Is been hard finding posts in AN that reference to this exam, and would like to ask for your help in any tips or suggestions in taking this exam. Also if you already took it, what was it like?
Thank you,
I took the exam in Jan. barely any A&P questions I mainly focused on verbal and math when I was studying. The best study aid for the math section if your basic math skills are a little rusty is the Davis Basic Math Review (If you look up the NLN exam review book on amazon you can find the Davis book as part of a package deal). The vocal section is pretty hit or miss unless you have time to learn the entire dictionary! lol Skim the reading passages first then read the questions then looks for the answer in the passage…..I used this method even for my ACT and got a 35 on the reading/verbal section. Just drill the book for a couple weeks until you have the general concepts down cold.
( I only studied for a few hrs for about 3 days and scored a 129)
