Totally random, but anybody do a keto lifestyle or even diabetic? I've been reading about how sugar alcohol can make you test positive? I haven't began my program yet as I'm still waiting to hear back. But my wife and I have been doing keto for a few months and now I believe I shouldn't have sugar alcohol?

Ketosis and diabetic ketoacidosis are two different processes, thankfully! Ketosis only produces ketones in your urine and will not give a false positive. There are also members on here that can back that up personally.
DKA also spills glucose into your urine which can cause a false positive if somehow fermented either with yeast from the body or through poor specimen storage and transport processes, yes.
I meant more so, the consumption of sugar alcohol?

I finished monitoring in July, but have been doing keto since February. I am unsure if I actually consumed a lot of sugar alcohols during that time though. I've used Truvia, Pyure sweetener, Swerve, Splenda (all granular forms). I do use those small squeeze bottles of liquid stevia/erythritol sweetener in my coffee every day. Other than that I've tried really hard to start eating just plain food rather than processed products so I'm not sure if sugar alcohols are part of my keto diet or not! But I do know I've been in ketosis since February (according to my ketostix) and although I worried at first about false positives because of that, I never had any troubles with my drug screens.
Can you tell us exactly what products that you eat that contain sugar alcohols? I've recently bought some keto meal replacement bars that do have sugar alcohols in them, but I know I didn't start eating those until I was done with monitoring. But it's possible I've eaten other products with sugar alcohols and just didn't pay close enough attention to the labels! So give us examples of the foods you're eating that contain sugar alcohols and hopefully I can set your mind at ease as another Keto follower that successfully made it through monitoring!

I believe the sweetener, xylitol, is an alcohol. Honestly, though, I'd have to google it.
