People who have worked at subacute hospitals such as Kindred refer to it as hard, ass-busting work, but it is a way to gain valuable experience. Many of the skills used in subacute are also used at acute care hospitals.Looking for subacute hospital experience as a way back to hospital clinical. Saw this suggested on another post and thought it made sense. Any suggestions?
i work for a ltach in ft worth ....my hospital exp was minimal but it dont take long to get whipped into shape ..let me tell you ....there was so much i had forgot and have not practiced in forever...you just dont hang blood in ltc so i was literally walking into a new whole area of nursing...but here i have done it all sharpened my skills and feel much better about clinical nursing....i take 5-6 patients and bust my butt everyday but in the end it is very worth it....and the pay is really good......
