Studying for NCLEX-RN. BEYOND STRESSED!!

Published

My NCLEX is scheduled for May 18th. I feel like I am not retaining anything I'm studying and I'm getting more practice questions wrong than usual! I feel as though I'm psyching myself out and preparing myself to fail. Help!!

Take a deep breath and relax! Study when you can and rest when your tired. It's not good to have a negative attitude when studying. You still have a couple of weeks to review! Believe in yourself that you will pass this test!! :) What review materials are you using? You should know your content first then practice answering questions. Good luck!

I've mainly been relying on my two Saunders books. I will look over the chapters then make sure I am able to answer the questions. Reading the rationales helps me a lot. My weakest point by far is Pharmacology. Any tips for medications???

I know I am capable of passing this, there is just so much riding on this one test! Ahhhhhh!!! :)

For content, Saunders is pretty good! I myself am using Saunders too and taking the test this month. Don't be so anxious coz you will not be able to focus on your goal. just do what you need to do and be prepared! :) For pharmacology, I wrote it on an index card and some are on the walls in my room! Lol Not to memorize but to familiarize and know their indications. Since you're using saunders, there is a tip in the CD on how to know your meds. Hope my suggestions will help you and to decrease your anxiety! Be positive!!

read the Kaplan 2013-14 test taking strategies..... it really helps identify "distractors" and guides you on how to pick the right answer.... nclex is NOT a difficult test. also try to get the "study guide" that has posted on this blog in the past... you will pass!!

Im in the same boat. I will be sitting for the boards on the 17th. I feel like i need more time. Im just going to take it! If i don't pass then at least i will know what to expect next time. With that being said ... i hope i pass! Im using Helen fuerer with packets for content! Highly recommend it! Kaplan QT and NCLEX 4000 for the questions! I feel that the NCLEX4000 questions are a little easy though. Let me stay humble! Im weak in Pharm and OBGYN! I wish you the best of luck rgrajews!

here is a study guide that someone posted.... it's really good!! it helped me pass the first time.

I see that you recommend Kaplan 2013-2014, how's your test? I'm currently using EXAM CRAM and PDA by La Charity and was using Kaplan 2013-2014 too but haven't attended any review center do you think my preparation is sufficient already? I'll be having my test of the 30th and i'm really anxious right now. Thank you for your time. :)
