I can do some studying with the kids. We all sit around the kitchen table with our books. Hubby is the only one without homework so his "homework" is to assist the younger two on their assignments so they'll leave me alone. He is also responsible for keeping them on task since they like to play. This turns study time into family bonding time and when there are so few hours in the day, you make anything family-time. Study time is usually over when they have run out of homework and then we'll play a game or go to the pool or for a family walk or veg out in front of the TV.
I also study each evening after they've gone to bed. This is my quiet, uninterrupted time and I go to bed dreaming about what I've studied, which, according to independent studies, is supposed to help commit the info to long-term memory. During this quiet time, hubby is usually working on his laptop with headphones (he programs a Christmas light show to music and works on programming year-round).
I don't do all nighters nor cram. I read the material not only at home but if I take material with me to doctor's appointments, dental exams, picking my son up from school (cause he never comes out on time), anywhere that I may be able to get some study time in I will bring my books and notes.

Most of the time I procrastinate! Terrible I know .. but when I do study it has to be in COMPLETE silence. I put my cell phone & laptop out of sight .. study in about 30 minute chunks, take a 10-15 minute break then keep the cycle going. Then I normally wake up a little early the next morning to study one more time. I never pull all nighters but I may be up until about 2 in the morning.
