Hi everyone so my question is obvious but let me give you some background. I am in the final sprint of my pre-reqs before I start applying to programs this summer, I have two boys ages 3 and 5 that are for the lack of a better word RAMBUNCTIOUS and very loud and it is very difficult to keep them calm and quiet when we get home each day. Now obviously I focus a lot of study time on the two days I am ON campus but I need more than that and don't know what to do. My grandmother lives with us and she tries to keep up with them but lets be real, two young guns vs an old grey mare lol. Anyway I have played with the thought of leaving the house on weekends to focus better while I am studying and just wanted to know if any of you have any tips or tricks you use at home that could help? Thanks!
I have a 2 year old and I am at home with her full time except when I go to school. I set aside time during the day and let her do playdoh or something at the table with me while I study or let her have a little quiet movie time. Then I study when she naps and when she goes to bed at night. It's cute because now she will tell me she is doing homework. Ha. But overall, I have stayed very organized by outlining what I will do each day and week so it isn't overwhelming and I can balance family/household duties with school.
I help raise my 11 month nephew and I usually study a few hours at school every day i go after classes, then i study after the baby goes to bed for like an hour each night, and then one day a week i have my grandmother take him for the day so that i can focus on studying (I try to make those days on days before tests).

I cram in as much as I can while I'm home alone which is for two afternoons a week when both my kids are in school. My daughter does "quiet time" after lunch on the days she doesn't have school and she knows very well that she is not to interrupt me because I'm doing homework. She's 3 so it's not always perfect but setting up that expectation and sticking to it, she knows the rules. So I can pretty much get everything I need to get done during those times. And I always try to work ahead and read ahead if I can.
