I think for some it is doable, if you learn/retain the info by a "notes" system and it works for you that's fantastic! I was unable to use the SG101 and Lisa Arends, i needed things written out with examples and descriptions/pictures =) So i am one that DID buy all the books, HOWEVER, i'm also limited on budget and ONLY purchased books that were 1-2 editions behind on ebay or half.com =) I spent $4.99 total for my fundamentals book and it looked brand new =) i think total for the program (plus i bought a bunch of "extra" materials too) I spent $200-$250 total =) not too shabby! I think it just depends on the person...I would have NEVER passed LS1 or LS2 wthout the books, but that's just me! =) I'd at least for newer testers who are unsure, buy the fundamentals book, the nursing diagnosis book (because you can take this one to the CPNE with you), a pharm book, and a medsurg book. Everything else id' say is kinda just extra =)
I have used Chancellors Study Guides to pass...and I'm thinking I should get the Funds book with Chronicity. I have passed so far using the guides and taking the practice tests. The tests I took had questions I never came across my study material . I use the Excelsior study guide thats available free to keep me on track.

I have used only the studyguide 101, lisa arends notes, the practice quizes, and the excelsior study guide an have done well so far. I hear a lot of people buy/read the recomended chapters...... Is is really necessary?
Has anyone done this without the books? I am on a very very limited budget, and have borrowed some. I just havent used them yet.
Has anyone else had this experience?? i am taking Chronicity now, but did Micro nc7, nc1 and nc2 this way.......( the numbers are just easier to type)
