Hello! I'm taking medical terminology in the fall. Does anyone know of any good study guides I can go ahead and start reading in order to get a head start?

I haven't personally used one, but I saw a fairly nice selection of them in the nursing section at Barnes and Noble. They were right next to the NCLEX study prep books.

The book I have for my class came with flash cards and a CD to help with pronunciation. I've used the flash cards, but not the CD. I'm taking the class online, and have gotten all A's on the tests.

I got a book from the library called "Medical Terminology Made Incredibly Easy". In the beginning there is a list of prefixes, roots and suffixes. The rest of the book goes into A&P, pharmacology, and medical abbreviations. But I suspect all med. term. books are different, but I'm not reallly sure. HTH.

]My med. term. class used The Language of Medicine, 8th ed. by Chabner. It has great clinical pictures that help you put word to form with case studies. It helped me get an A!

I found The Language of Medicine by Davi Ellen Chabner to be a great med. term. book as well as Mosby's Medical Terminology flash cards.
Best wishes to you
