Study Group for Boards

I am writing a daily email, about 15 have joined so far, of topics with explainations of things to study for Boards. I am a Nursing Instructor on sabbatical this semester. After reading the posts, many are concerned about passing their boards the first time. I was answering individual e mails, and decided to open this up to all who wanted to receive them. All emails will be Blind Carbon Copies (BCC) of who else is on the email list.

The average weakness people have shared is early detection of disease. I am a CNS in Oncology and a Forensic Nurse Specialist. I frequently work Telemetry and Trauma. If you wish to join, I can Be reached at [email protected]. Please tell me what you feel are your strengths and weaknesses and what you would like to see covered

An example of the first email

Normal Ph is 7.35 to 7.45

Normal sodium is 135

Normal K+ is 3.5 to 4.5

there are many more.

Here are the situations, study up on what happens if each lab value I have mentioned here is high or low. This is how you will identify early disease.

HyperNatrimia, Hyponatrimia, HyperKalemia, HypoKalemia, High Ph, low Ph, and their corrections.

Next timeHyper and hypo calcemia

Also Blood glucose, see you next time>
