We are thinking about changing our student uniforms - especially shoes. We have required white shoes for as long as I remember. It is getting very difficult to find solid white tennis shoes around here. We are also thinking about changing from a maroon too and white pants to all maroon.

Our clinical facilities don't care what we choose

What uniforms do your schools require?

Red top with black pants (can only be bought through our nursing program, no other brands). These are our school colors so it works well! White, black, or gray shoes are allowed :)

All of you that get to wear colored scrubs are lucky! We have to wear all white. Head to toe.

My school allows us to wear royal blue or white top and bottom in any combination--can do all white, all royal, or top white/bottom royal or vice versa. We are supposed to wear white shoes, but a lot of students don't; some don't even own white shoes. I did okay finding white Danskos, but my fiancé is a man with small feet who hates clogs, and it was nearly impossible for him to find white shoes. I would say something like shoes should be all white OR all black would open up options a lot without looking silly (people wearing tie-dyed Danskos or those neon-bright sneakers that are popular right now).

why do the shoes have to be white? That seems like a hang over from the '50's. Clean shoes would be my preference, regardless of color.
