Financing CRNA School

Nursing Students SRNA

Published

Hello,

I was recently accepted into a CRNA program and was wondering, for those of you who financed school and living expenses using student loans, was the money you received through the government enough to finance everything? Did you have to take out any private loans?

I am taking out loans for everything and they offer me more than I need. However I live very frugally. My husband pays 1/2 rent and I pay 1/2 with loans, and we live in a smaller place than before.

Two of my classmates have run out of loans though. One pays for everything for her husband (he doesn't work) and I'm not sure on the situation of the other. If you're smart it'll be fine. Get roommates if necessary and a crockpot for all of your meals.

Thank you for your response! I am a little nervous about this aspect of getting through the program. Definitely going to do my research and see how much it costs. I got into a DNP program, so that's 3 years of not working. I also have a mortgage. I have a little saved up but no where near the amount that I would like to have.

following this thread.... I haven't got in yet but thinking about this already. My husband works fULL time and carries the benefits, we have a mortgage and 2 kids. he can cover 75% of the bills if we cut back and I turn in my car (its a lease). I would like to work per diem, one shift every other weekend for gas and parking money. We have some savings that will cover that other 25% for about 2 years. I will definitely be looking to family and friends for meals and baby sitters. I plan on loans to cover all tuition cost.
