Any have supplies for starting school? My first year is all online and starting to gather what I need.

Generally the first semester is more just books. I had to purchase books. I would utilize bigwords.com. I have an Indian edition of A manual of labratory and diagnostic tests. I have utilized it a few times.

See if your school provides Microsoft Word for free. Mine does. My work also lets us get the latest one for 10 bucks.

You may want to get a laptop or a desktop if yours is slightly older. I prefer desktops but I use both.

I love PERRLA for writing papers to help with APA.

Consider looking at professional wear for clinicals. Most NPs appear to wear professional clothing and not scrubs. I did purchase scrubs in different colors to border on professional (tan pants and solid colored tops). Your school may have a uniform policy.

Gathering records for titers and shot records.

A double yes to PERRLA. It's worth every cent! I've had it for the past 5 years and used it a million times over. You need to have Word installed to be able to use it as it's an add-on. Brilliant tool. I also invested in a subscription to a plagiarism checker that allowed multiple checks. Well worth it when you have a ton of papers to write with lots of citations. I used writecheck.com which I found to be invaluable. Well worth it. For statistics class I got a (very cheap) subscription to statistics.laerd.com which without I would not have passed this class. That's a top pick.

I have both a laptop and a desktop. I made myself a nice office in our spare room dedicated just to me and school. It's peaceful, comfortable and I have a desk and a recliner couch in there for long hours of reading and writing. Having a nice environment to study in really makes it more bearable. Invest in a few scratch pads to take notes on. Some decent pens. A coffee mug warmer lol. Oh...and some good comfortable headphones. I spent hours watching You Tube lectures and the headphones cut all the household noise out and allowed me to listen carefully and not annoy my fiancée. I also bought a 3D anatomical model with removable organs from Ebay. It's not necessary but I found it gave me something to practice health assessments on to memorize systems.

And for anyone doing a health assessment class....I found this book to be far better and more useful than the recommended textbook. It's really well organized and I used it a lot. I recommend all the books in this series, and you can get them super cheap used on Amazon:

Assessment: A 2-in-1 Reference for Nurses (2-in-1 Reference for Nurses Series): 9781582553191: Medicine & Health Science Books @ Amazon.com

Second the headphones, I invested in a pair of Bose noise canceling headphones completely worth every penny. I also bought an anatomy coloring book to review before I started :)
