As a former student there, I honestly cannot recommend their FNP program. I had a great experience with their RN-to-BSN program. The FNP program was a nightmare of negative change after negative change. The worst part is that no reputable school will accept the credits I earned in the FNP program. I have to start over from the beginning. It was a huge waste of time & money. Chamberlain will accept anyone with a pulse and a promissory note. Seriously, I would look elsewhere, even if it means you have to wait to start.

I was supposed to start July 9th, but I'm applying to a state brick and mortar school. It just makes more sense for me. So I'm holding off my decision to go with Chamberlain. I've heard mixed reviews as well. I just completed my final course for my BSN. It was a online program and it was awful. I felt alone and felt as if I had to teach the material to myself. So I really don't want to do another online program, but we will see how that goes.

Just be ready to for lots of busy work. I received my BSN at Chamberlain and I have taken 5 graduate courses.

Chamberlain is for profit and it is expensive. The semesters are only 8 weeks with alot of content to cover. Many people think that for profit schools are easy. The classes are not easy, you have to work for your grades. You must post 3 times per week in discussion boards and you must use outside scholarly references. The professors are strict with APA format but not consistent with their requirements. In a t 8 week session, there are also usually 3 papers and/or power point presentations. In my opinion, figure out if the program is for you sooner than later because graduate courses can be difficult to transfer. I believe that there are graduate programs that are less expensive. I also feel that there is a large amount of coursework to be completed in the 8 weeks which leaves no room for setbacks. Late assignments are taken up to 3 days with 10 percent taken off each day, there are no exceptions. Good luck to you.

No program is perfect. The changes made by Chamberlain are good but not bad changes. The transition has not always been easy but worth it. There will always be an opposition with everything else in life. You can choose to stay positive and make the best out of your learning experience no matter which school you choose. Am currently in my second clinical rotation with three more to go. I've had a good experience overall and if I have to do it again, you bet I will have it no other way.

Writing scholarly papers and posting APA related discussion board posts = not difficult. It is tedious more than anything. There should be competency testing with examinations/proctored examinations.

I took 6 courses in Chamberlain's FNP program before getting fed up with their ineptness and constant program changes. NONE of my credits would transfer to reputable schools. The only schools who would accept all of my credits were other online/proprietary schools. I now have to start over again, and eat the cost of what I lost wasting my time at Chamberlain. It sets me back 2 years as well. However, I feel it is worth it to change programs. I don't want to be associated with such a poorly organized program. From the time I started July 2017, they made changes EVERY 8 weeks while I was a grad student there. No one knew how to answer questions, the instructors were often left out of the communication loop, the tech support people didn't know how to help people with all the technical changes. It was a nightmare. The horrible grammar of some of my classmates in their discussion posts shows you how lax their admission "standards" actually are. Yet, those students kept getting passed along, so obviously they aren't as concerned with your academic ability as they are with your financial ability. Run away! Seriously.
