Anyone enrolled or graduated from Spring Arbor's MSN FNP program?

I am looking for some feedback on Spring Arbor's Online MSN Family nurse practitioner program. Has anyone attended or graduated from there? I have had some good conversations with the admission team and it seems like a great program. They are accredited and it is part time, taking almost 3 years to complete. I can't find many reviews from students online. Would appreciate any information!

I just sent you an email.

Thanks!

This is an old threat but I am going to share my experience. I enrolled in Spring Arbor because I liked how I could continue to work full time and be able to do classes online. Initially the thought of choosing my preceptors was appealing- hey I could do it on my own hours! Classes are manageable, but nowhere in the application process did they share how difficult it can be to find a preceptor. I took out about 10K in loans from them and attempted for 6 months to find a single preceptor. No luck. The clinical coordinator for the graduate programs was not helpful; the school apparently has a list of previously accepted preceptors, but the list is not substantial for someone living away from the Midwest. I think if you have preceptors lined up and you live in an area where they have a good amount of previous preceptors for you to contact, then the program would work for you. This was not my case.

Are you still in the program and how are you liking it?

How has your ecperience with Spring arbor univ been?

I didn't like it at first but now am halfway through and I think I am learning a lot and I think it's a good program, make sure you line up your preceptors. Just like most distance learning you need to find your own preceptor. Also another good thing about the program is the life model for their history and physical assessment during the immersion week, you get to practice on the life model and it's kinda give you a feel of reality and your role as an NP.

Thanks for the reply. What state are you in? How many cohorts are in your class?any other problems with the program?

Hi Everyone,

I am a new online NP student at Spring Arbor and wanted to know if anyone could give me advice and good tips.

Thank you! I'm excited but nervous at the same time lol.

Hi Tweetybsn,

I am a new student at Spring Arbor. Would you mind if I messaged you about what you thought about the courses?

Thank you!

There's a FB group Spring Arbor University Np students, join that.

Specializes in Critical Care, Peri-Op, Aesthetics.

I'm trying to figure out program length for SAU here.. I'm applying to the school and I was told it takes 2.5 years.. 2 years for coursework and they give you an extra 6 months to finish up clinical hours IF YOU NEED IT. How are some people saying it takes 3 years and other people are able to finish it in 2-2.5 years? Clarify please! 3 years is long, y'all lolol!

Hi everyone!

I am planning on going back to school in the fall for AGNP and Spring Arbor University is at the top of my list.

I would love to hear from a current or former student. How did you like the program? Did you have issues with clinical placement or coursework?

Thanks in advance!
