Hey guys! I am on the prowl for a good, reputable student loan company. I start my FNP grad program in a few weeks and my first semester alone is 5200 dollars. I have no issues with getting student loans, but I want a company that doesn't charge a ton of interest. Anyone have any leads? Please and thank you!

I don't know if Earnest does initial loans or just refinances existing ones, but I consolidated mine through them and I love them! Great customer service, really easy process. When you call them they don't even have a phone tree. A real human answers right away!

Do you qualify for federal graduate student loans? I think the current interest rate for the graduate unsubsidized Stafford loan is around 5%.

You must do due diligence on this topic.

In fact, become an expert.

Know that they are not dischargable through bankrupcy and above all have your preceptors lined up and nailed.

And no for-profits.

Or better, yet, take out minimum loans and take a job in a HRSA location after school to get a good portion of them forgiven. That's what many students in my area do, we are both rural and underserved. There are dozens of jobs in the area that go unclaimed every year because even more of the students in the local programs leave the area for very large urban medical centers and jobs in the private sector.

However, these have to be federal student loans, can't include private loans or non-student loans.
