Hello,
My school sent out an email with details on a Student Nurse Externship at a local hospital. I have been thinking about doing the externship but I only know basic skills and nervous to be responsible for another person.
Has anyone ever did a student nurse externship and still have a part-time job along with going to school full time? Were you paid for the externship or was it unpaid?
Any advice would be helpful.
Thank You.

Read the details on the Externship or make a call. Program details will explain the extern role, working hours & whether there is any salary. It will also have very specific 'job description' for participants. I can assure you that there is absolutely no way that student externs would be expected to perform outside their scope of competency or without adequate supervision. On the plus side - an externship is an excellent way to get your foot in the door for that first new grad job after graduation.
