You need to let us know a little more about what happened. And a little bit about you. And a bit about why you were told you failed and whether or not you agree with that. Different programs have people starting at different places when they do clinicals; some programs won't even let you apply unless you are a CNA--and, in fact, you haven't told us what kind of program you are in.

i understand how you feel. i failed clinicals also. i've been told that some of the best nurses have failed clinicals. don't compare yourself with everyone else. be proud that you have gotten where you are. be strong. stay humble, teachable, and learn from your mistakes. one of my favoirte quotes by roosevelt renews my committment when i face setbacks and criticism.

Hi. I'll move you post to the student forum, where hopefully more people will relate to your situation. However, it might be better to explain what exactly happened as to why you failed, then they would be better able to give you advice. Was it the patient care? The paper work? etc.

Hi, I failed clinical and after that, I went to another school and did become a nurse..

You see, every clinical instructor comes with a bias..He or she can dislike you and fail you for anything you do..It does not matter how competent you are..What matters most is if the instructor likes you or not..I mean students do make mistakes and everyone does; it is how the instructor views you and the mistake...But I remember I failed clinical over something that does not make sense at all..I am licensed now and working as a nurse so I should know..

Some instructors are fair and some are not.

The first time that I failed out of Nursing school (currently failing again because im awesome) it was a clinical failure. Looking back, my main problem was nerves. I'd panic and couldnt think of the answer when my teacher was badgering me. I was also diagnosed with ADD shortly afterwards.

What helped me was getting a job in a hospital and getting used to caring for patients. The patient care became second nature so I could focus on the theory part.

what also helped was that the teacher who failed me left the school so I didnt have to endure her.

On the 5th day??? Omg that's awful - I feel very badly for you. Please let us know what happened! This doesn't sound right for some reason.

I failed clinical, and in the 12th hr! Only had 3 wks to go! Ah well. Hang in there, we will be MUCH stronger next semester! You are DEFINITELY not alone.
