Stuck Pre-Nursing Student; Feeling Frustrated

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

Hello,

I am currently completing my last pre-req at community college, Microbiology. I am hoping to get into the RN program for the Fall. This will be my second time applying, was waitlisted last year, at spot 84. I am feeling a bit down lately. Trying to stay positive that I will get in this round, but am worried I may not.

My current plan is, if I don't get in this round, getting my bachelors in Public Health. I currently work as a HHA in town and love it. So I think if I get my BS and then apply for accelerated BSN programs.

Does this sound like a good route? Hate to waste money, you know? I just need advice of fellow students and current nurses. I have also contemplated ultrasound and radiology tech, since they can branch to different avenues, but nursing is my true passion.

Thank you!

I am in Southern California, but I have applied from coast to coast. I am in the process of getting a TX license, but I don't think that will help, either. Additionally, I was a hospital CNA, took on an externship during school, and was even class president. It's like I'm invisible.
