YIKES - I just took the nclex this morning and SWEAR I missed them all! I was "cut off" at 79 questions and just before that I thought .... at least there are 170+ MORE questions to keep trying on b/c I'm SURE I don't know these. I am beside myself. $57,000 and 5 years to get through college (BSN program) and at my old age - I think I did NOT pass. The guy in the top of our class (of 100) was still seated taking the exam when I walked out. ....and my job in cardiology (working as a GN for 3 months) hinges on passing - and I am soul support after finally graduating an 18 year old last year. I will not be able to sleep for the next 48 hours. Did anyone else get cut off early and feel like EVERY question they answered was wrong? I cannot judge the questions but I got very few priority type questions with multiple lab values/scenarios of "who do you help/assess first. Not a good sign? I also got very few questions regarding delegation, teaching, assessment - and yet I passed Kaplan's readiness test at around 68% and the ATI exams up in the highest range which indicated a 98% chance of passing the NCLEX. I felt like a total dope when I couldn't even remember what FOOD had iron in it.... I felt like I knew NONE of the drug questions and only had ONE calculation question - thank GOODNESS I got that one! Anyone else stressing today? I'm OLD and feel as though I'm going to have cardiac arrest !! I started in Nursing School 28 years ago and was diagnosed with breast cancer (thanks to being taught BSE back in the late 70's in school!) Left nursing school.... to fight that battle; won it and returned to enter a BSN program which took me 5 years. Without nursing school I would probably not be alive ...and now - it may get the best of me yet
... and it all hinged on 1 hour and 39 minutes this morning.
Moral support and information APPRECIATED AND DESIRED ~ !
Hello everyone:cry:. Thank you for your thoughts and prayers, I got my results and I did not pass:(!! The print out I received so that I was near the passing average in everything?? There is just so much to study and this is so overwhelming. I will take this again in 45 days. It is my mission for the year 2009 to pass this test. So I will keep trying. The little white envelope came in the mail Friday.. I will keep you all posted. And congratulations on passing I am very happy for you:yeah:. If you have any tips let me know.. Thank you Tammy
CONGRATULATIONS NEWGN88:yeah: I know you must be so happy.. I think I would just go jump off the roof into my pool if i Pass. lolo. I am so very happy for you that is such an accomplishment. What did you study? Everyone I know told me to stop studying and just go in there cold turkey this next time??
I will keep you posted. Tj:scrm:

Thanks Tammylj, don't worry I failed once too:cry:. First off take a BIG deep breath. Put down the books for 1 wholw week do nothing but relax spend time with family and take time for yourself. Next do SUZZANES plan do the first step which is to get the book it is about 40-50$ but this is ALL you will spend her sticky is in this thread. Then do the other steps that she sends you. You should take at least 80 days to study for this test IT IS WORTH IT. I also took a relaxation class just one. IT WAS AMAZING. I ended up doing something like 4500 questions by time I was done with the plan. :banghead:Next when I went in to take the test I got the earplugs sat down closed my eyes took a BIG deep breath and away I went taking my time with each and every question. If my mind started to wonder I closed my eyes and took another deep breath to focus. YOU CAN AND WILL DO THIS. Suzannes plan DOES work if you do EXACTLY as she says. :up:Try it what do you have to lose right? If you want to PM me feel free I would be more than happy to support you and walk you through the process. :DAlso from the time you start Suzannes plan NO NEGATIVITY only POSITIVE thinking. :saint:I will be an RN I will be an RN get sticky notes and post them around the house, practice writing your name with RN behind it. Sounds goofy but thats what I did the second time and here I am starting Wed as an RN. Good luck I'm here for ya you'll do it. I'm rooting for ya:yeah:
Thank you for your support and prayers. I think I will try Suzannes plan. I have really tried to relax this week and be with the kids and puppies (bassett hound) My father in law has his surgery for parotid cancer this week it is stage 3 so not a good prognosis so everyone please keep us in your prayers. and NewGN88. you can change your name to NewRN88. I am so happy for you and I dont even know you I will be so glad to have all this behind me... IF you want to email me you can. :wshgrt: Have a great day and Good Luck to all that is facing the NCLEX:onbch: This will be me when I pass... Tammy
