Strengthen CRNA school chances.

I am looking for insight into how to strengthen my chances into being accepted into CRNA school. I have been in the ICU since 2016 with most of it being Level One Trauma (3 years) the other years have been spent in a mix of SICU/MICU (no Trauma designation) and Cath Lab. I have my CCRN AND CMC. I have not been a charge nurse since 2017 since the have more seasoned nurses at my current workplace that are are PCCs on the weekend and throughout the week. I am looking to apply to schools that only consider the last 60 hours since my previous undergraduate GPA is only a 2.7. Last 60 hours GPS is 3.2 with a science GPA of 3.5. I have taken graduate Statistics and received an B, OChem received an A, Genetics with an A and Chemistry 1 with an A-. I  have applied to 5 different schools and only received one interview that resulted in a rejection. Currently taking a graduate Pathophysiology class to show I can perform at an advance nurse level. What else can I do to seem more competitive?

Sorry didn’t include it but I took the GRE and made a 305/4

That’s a good score, look for programs that include the GRE in the application. If you’re flexible on geographic location, you’ll find a program.

Be prepared to study harder than you ever have before. Your grades show that you may be one of those students comfortable with doing ‘just enough to get by’.  That’s going to get you in trouble in an anesthesia program. Getting in is step 1, staying in is the ultimate goal.

Consider retaking the GRE, a 305/4 is an okay score (ballpark 50th percentile).  With your lower undergraduate GPA you need a few thing demonstrating that you've changed your study habits and are willing to put in some serious study time.    https://www.ets.org/s/gre/pdf/gre_guide_table1a.pdf
