Can we make this the official thread for The Stony Brook Accelerated Nursing Class of 2016. Let's start posting questions and suggestions here.
Nmf114,if i were you i would rather go to nyu or stonybrook than molloy. Molloy students finish in 3 yrs even tho its an "accelerated program" i spoke to other students and that what they all said. I'd rather do 15 months in nyu or 12 months at stony. I'm in the same boat as you. I withdrew from molloy, i got my acceptance into nyu and i'm going to put my deposit in and wait for stony to respond. If i dont get into stony brook i still have nyu regardless of the price youre done in 15 months rather than 4 and thats what matters
Wow thanks for the info. I thought Molloy's program was 15 months as well. I will definitely look into that now. Yea I want to be done in 15 months and not 3 years.
For the sake of being fair, I won't disclose what exactly was asked. But a lot of the questions were basically trying to assess how well you would do in the accelerated program plus your social skills. They require some thoughts and honestly, you can't really prepare yourself for it. The faculties were very nice and they try to make you feel as comfortable as possible so smile a lot, heck you can even make a small joke to lighten up the mood. Thats what I did anyways. Its probably good to talk to your fellow interviewees as well just to shake off the nerves. I was with 4 other candidates, so sometimes you forget the question that was asked. Dont be afraid to ask them to repeat the question (thats what the program coordinator said). The math and writing samples were fairly easy. Review your percentages, decimals, simple algebra.
