last week i had an interview with a big healthcare company for their scholar program (they pay for school and you work it off after graduation)--it has been a little over a week and i haven't heard anything from them. the anticipation is killing me. should i be proactive and call and ask when program acceptance will be known or should i just chill and wait? anybody have an idea or an educated question that would give me reason to cantact them without looking like i just want to know if i am in?

Give them time. Chances are that they are still interviewing candidates.

Can't hurt to ring and ask your question; shows you're keen.
Good luck

I would say wait, yet it may not hurt if you write them a thank you letter for the interview and let them know that you are still really interested and can't wait to hear from them. Remind them of how they can contact you. If you need suggestions on how to write that letter you might try careerbuilder, monster.com or google "interview letter template". I hope you get a reply and get what you've been waiting for!:nuke:

Employers notice people who are proactive and persistent , and the ones who just wait like bumps on a log ... go call !!!!

Call and say that you're just checking the status of your application and if they need any further information from you. Then slip in the "oh, by the way, do you have a timeframe as to when you'll let candidates know if they've been accepted?"
i sent out letters to the 2 names i have within the organization today. the letters reiterated my interest and thanks for the opportunity. thanks for the motivational boost.
cheers!

i'm glad you wrote those letters.
whenever you interview, always and immediately write a thank-you note. (only if you want the job)
it is classy, professional and shows your interest.
let us know if you hear anything.
and wishing you the very best.
