I don't know if my suggestion is possible for you. However, could you possibly commute to a large metro area that offers abundant LPN employment opportunities? I once lived in a city that had a bad job market, but commuted 120 miles each way to another city to take a job that offered 3 12-hour shifts per week. I got 4 days off in a row, so the commute was not that bad.
I live in a small town in Ohio too, and had a terrible time finding a job, b/c I thought I could do better out of town. Now I work LTC and part time MR/DD (both 5 minutes away) and I love both. I'm in town, finally got a place with 12 hour shifts, and make $3 more an hour than I was with a 1/2 hour drive. I was against working any LTC around here b/c I had heard the horror stories of people that I know that worked the ones here in town before. But I'm happy where I'm at. I just had to open my mind to it.
I am working with Supplemental Health Care a travel nursing company but nothing yet still doing the paper work. lol I may just put so applications around town, pay just sucks here. Supplemental Health Care said they have something in betava ohio that is $25 so that would be great if it works out. thanks to everyone who posted I appreaciate it.

No job yet still looking, I am from a very very small town in ohio on the ohio river and jobs a scarce. I HATE OHIO, but I was born here and all my family are discuraging me not to move, but this is driving me crazy. I have been out of school sence august, took me 6 months to get the courge to take the big TEST, and now that I have passed the dag on thang now job hunting for a new grad here is worse. This is frustrating.
