Well I have 4 more weeks of school and 2 more times to go to clinical rotation. (We go once a week on Friday's) So far I can still say I LOVE NURSING SCHOOL AND I CAN'T WAIT TO BE A NURSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :nurse: My test scores are high (suprisingly) and I have the bomb study group.:) I've made so many new friends and met so many remarkable patients I feel like the queen of the world. I love what I'm doing which is funny realizing how much I hate my current job. (Airline customer service/ticketing agent):angryfire I have the best clinical instructor. She's willing to help you out, is open to stupid questions (and I have a lot of those) and dosen't yell at you if you do something wrong. I completed my first IM injection today and haven't finished calling everyone I know to tell them how great and cool it was. (I know. No big deal to some of you.) So what. It's a big deal to me!!!!

HOW IS NURSING SCHOOL GOING FOR THE REST OF YOU? STILL LOVE IT, HATE IT, OR JUST TOLERATING IT!!!!

Hello all: After three years in school and 5 weeks left, my word is :lol2: tolerate. best of luck to all, especially the Dec. grads! oh, and thank God for this website!

I also have about 5 weeks left & as much as I am looking forward to graduation, I am going to miss school - mostly cause of my classmates. Nursing school definitely pushes you to your limits - hang tough & don't give up. The time really does go by quickly - cherish it.

I LOVE nursing school but I HATE physiology

Leah, I know what you're feeling. A professor explained it to me in this way; when we get checked off, we have demonstrated bare minimum competency at that particular moment. We are certainly not proficient.

You are right where you are supposed to be. You have demonstrated the ability to safely learn with consistent practice. It's not unusual at my school to find a fourth semester student who hasn't yet inserted a foley in a real live patient. Go figure. I think most of the nurses here will tell us that the real education began AFTER nursing school during their orientation. Nevertheless, it is unnerving.

Thanks RNKittyKat, it's always nice to hear inspiring words. I am a cat lover as well! I have 4... :)

Hah. I'm good at school, but I hate it. Only 5 months more though. I can't wait to be out and actually learn how to be a nurse. Nursing school is a lot of jumping through hoops, lessons in group communication, and figuring it out so that you can get by. Oh, and networking. I have a semsester left starting in Jan. (Critical Care and Management left) and I can't WAIT to be done! Whew!
