Stethoscopes?

I'm a new grad in the midst of orientation on the medical floor of my local hospital. The stethoscope I have from school is a Littmann Light Weight Classic, I think it's the cheapest of the Littmanns. I'm having trouble hearing lung sounds with it for some reason. I want to get a different one, but something not too terribly expensive. What do you all recommend?

The lightweight is a plastic piece of garbage. Get the Classic II SE or one of the other Littmann's.

I totally agree! I can hear better on the disposable ones for isolation rooms than on my Littmann Light Weight! Wonder why they even sell such a piece of crap when their name is so highly respected? I got the light weight one because it was included in our nursing package for school...

littman classic SE .. comfortable soft ear pieces, colorful, and clear sounds. It picks up so many that its quite noisy inside ... now to train the ear to pick out stuff. good luck
