So far I've gotten 2 stethoscope stolen where I work in less then 2 years. One time I had it by the computer where I was charting went into a patient room to discharge and come back and it's stolen.
Second time I left it in the break room by my backpack and come back after lunch and it's stolen. Reported to security to check cameras but didn't spot anything. Every nurse has there own stethoscope so has to be people from outside fscilities who come in for these things. Not sure if this happens everywhere.
My question is im going to buy another stethoscope is there such thing as a tracking device like how our iPhones have when they get lost or stolen?
If not we should build an idea for this. Can't believe we work in an environment to use a stethoscope to do our jobs but people are willing to steal them.

I put a tag on mine that read, "If you steal this stethoscope, your loins will go numb". No one wanted it!
