It sounds like he is just excited to be going into a nursing program- no need to split hairs. There are many high schools who offer health sciences as a two year program as well as some where you can graduate as an LPN.
Keaton, I applaud your decision to go to nursing school so young. I waited until 18 yrs out of high school to begin! You will find this site to be a wealth of information and a great support as well! Best wishes to you!
Im not trying to say anything other than Iam, and I apologize for any misleading information I may have said, but why make a big deal out of it....
Keaton,
I don't think we mean to make a big deal out of it, and we certainly don't want you to feel bad. It is reasonable that you had no idea that "pre-nursing" is a status for college students. We are just letting you know that "Pre-Nursing" is an actual major and status for pre-nursing college students.
I'm in my 4th and final semester as pre-nursing student (four semesters of hard work, blood, sweat, and tears), and yes, it does mean something.
Now all of that said, congratulations on your decision to pursue this. I admire your resolve and wish you the best.

Then after one year I will be qualified to be a LPN, after testing. Then after my second year I will be qualified for RN, after the NCLEX-RN.
