I will be starting the nursing program this fall and torn on which stethoscope to get. Im torn between Littmann Classic II S.E and Littmann Classic III. Any recommendations/likes/dislikes anything to help me choose. Im new to all of this. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!!
Littman has a cardiology stethoscope that has noise cancelling and acoustics it's VERY expensive and is only good for adult care as the head of the scope is too big for pediatrics and there is no bell because that's where your noise and volume buttons are. As a student I don't recommend this because stethoscopes walk, especially nice ones which I find to be horrible but it's a sad truth. I have an ultra scope and I love the sounds it gives but will be upgrading to the super expensive littman cardiology since I'm in NP school and my assessment skills require to be way more precise since my future role would require prescribing treatments based on my findings. Good luck!
I bought the classic II se. I haven't been trained to hear anything because I haven't started yet but, I will say that I used it to listen to my cats lungs.Haha I did the same thing with my dog! For my nursing program I will be starting in the fall I got the cardiology III. I got the blacked out edition with the rainbow head with my full name engraved also. For the sense of if someone does try to take it, it will possibly be returned. I decided to go with the more expensive one just because I plan to use this for the next long years in school and in my career I do not plan to replace it for a WHILE!

I don't understand why people keep telling nursing students to get cheapy steths (when I am going to go on to use it during my nursing career, as I assumed many of us would). I have two Littmann Cardiology IIIs. I love them. My hearing isn't great, so I needed something that made everything very audible and this brand and type totally does.
