If it is new, you can try bending it out some so that it is not so tight. Try bending your stethoscope out before spending money on another one. You can also buy new plastic tips that go in your ears. You might be able to find another pair that are more comfortable for you. The pen light is used for a number of things, mainly to check pupil reflex and to look into the mouth, nose and ears. Pen lights are pretty cheap. Just make sure that the light is nice and bright. You don't have to spend a lot of money on them. Hope this helps.
Anyone know the best stethoscope that wont hurt your ears? Im talking the ear pieces not the sound. I have a Littman (the cheapest one) and I think it hurts........also where to find a good penlight flashlight? (what are they for?)
Did your Littman come with the soft eartips? I have the classic S.E. and the eartips are soft and don't hurt my ears. Perhaps you could see if they carry the soft ones for your model. Good luck!
Thanks for asking this question....when using the school's stethoscope during an A & P lab and also my husband's (he's a chiro), I thought I would cry from the squeezing to my ears....VERY uncomfortable....and I was afraid to try to bend his out too much....it's a Littman Cardio and I think I'm going to go try and SE or Classic or whatever...maybe I'll have better luck!
