Stephen Colbert recognizes nurses as Heroes

Nurses Rock

Published

Stephen Colbert gave a wonderful shout out to nurses at NYU Hospital on his TV show The Colbert Report on Wednesday October 31, 2012.

I'd like to single out some heroes, okay, like the nurses at NYU hospital. After the hospital generators failed, these nurses carried twenty newborns down nine flights of stairs wall manually operating respirators

Stephen Colbert, thanks for the well deserved recognition of these amazing nurses during hurricane Sandy!

But more than anything, thanks to these heroic nurses! Thanks to nurses who do heroic things every shift and everyday!

I was amazed at the way this story was covered across the different networks, but we all know that we can and will do what it takes to treat our patients. I'm proud to be a nurse, and so grateful to Steven for his shout out!!
