Anybody can start an AA meeting! After-all where ever tow or more alcoholic are gathered in the names of Smith and Wilson - there you will find an AA meeting. I'm not sure your BON will approve of that though. Try this website A Sober Place | A Drug Rehab Placement Service I haven't been there in years but they used to list meetings worldwide and I used them once when I had to travel out of the country. There may be on-line meeting options but part of every probation/Monitoring programs requires that you "Work the steps with a sponsor" If you are able to PM send me a message maybe I can help you locate a meeting.
PS I have no financial interest in the above site - they were free non-profit when I used them.

I loathe the things with the heat of 100000 suns but there are probably at least 100 if not more, of the things per week in a 10 mile radius of my house. Granted, I live in a fair to middling size town and I do the same as Spanked (read, daydream, play cards, escape when the anxiety gets to me) I have a select few that are usually lower on the torture scale.
If 12 step is what you are after, you just need to google AA and your local area. That should bring up a meeting schedule. There are also NA and other varieties of whatever anonymous. Unless you are living under a very large rock, I would be very surprised if there were no AA meetings anywhere in that vicinity. As much as I hate the 12 step stuff, I will stipulate that it has helped some people and it is easy to find.
I look like a middle aged version of Daria with shorter hair, so it sure ain't that. Ours is an honor system. There is that Spectrum GPSthing where you supposededly can log in on your phone (tick a little box that says "I am at X meeting") yeah, no. KMA. If I'm gonna have to be tracked via GPS by some system, Its going to be because I did something fun like streaked through a church service or something.....(sorry about the visual)
I'd be screwed if I had to approach people to get something scribbled on a sheet. Oooo....just the thought makes me cringe.
Yeah getting the paper signed bites. You would think for a bunch of folks who value anonymity wouldn't want to sign such a thing much less aid in depriving you of your anonymity of being there by helping to track you. However, at some of the meetings I go to attendance would be way down without the conscripts. It kinda reminds me of reading about the soup kitchens some churches ran in the depression. You starving person only got to eat after listening to reverend gasbag first. They usually collect all the "slips" before the meeting and the King or Queen of the drunks signs them at the end but only after you sat there trying to stay awake and not being too obvious about playing on your phone in the meantime.
We do not care so much about our anonymity after two or three decades clean and sober and it is not a requirement to maintain ones' own sobriety. The crucial part is not giving up anyone else's' sobriety.
I live in a tiny, tiny town where is tough to maintain sobriety. I never discloses any one else's and did not much care about my own even as a newbie.
Did I mention tiny town? Everyone already knew me as a drinker and user of popular '80s stimulant, my reputation was God-awful; my reputation had nowhere to go but up...

There are no 12 step meetings within 60 miles of my town. Can i start a new group in my town?
