Without going into too much boring detail, my job (a clinic where we are treated worse than garbage) is the cause for my worsening mental state. I was diagnosed with depression years ago, and have been managing it so well. Recently, it has gotten to the point that on my days off, I won't shower, wash my hair, brush my teeth, or get out of bed- all because I'm dreading work the next day. I'm the RN, but since I'm the newest to the office, the MA's and receptionist tell me what to do on a daily basis. And that's how this place is run. I am the lowest on the totem pole, regardless [f my degree or title. Anyway, I am wondering if I should leave ASAP and take any job available in the community until I find another nursing job? Or should I wait until I find another nursing job to leave? I'm not sure how much I can handle here anymore. This clinic is ruining my depression.

I think you need someone you can confined at your work place and talk to... and hey try making new friends too it will help ...you are not alone dear

Can you quit and work agency until you find your next job? Do you have any support outside of work?

Personally, it sounds like you should leave. It also sounds like it’s time to check in with your PCP for a mental health checkup.

Best wishes to you.

ETA: Don’t leave if that means you lose health insurance, though. Or if you can’t financially afford to do so. Adulting sucks sometimes. If no money is going to make life worse, then step up your job search efforts and leave when you secure a new position.

Anytime one begins a new job brings on stress.

I'd check to see if your facility has an Employee Assistance Program =EAP (an employee benefit program that assists employees with personal problems and/or work-related problems that may impact their job performance)and contact them regarding your workplace issues. Having an outside unbiased person to share concerns to get objective advice is helpful. Otherwise, followup with the mental health professionals you saw for depression as what you posted is depressive symptoms.

I'd stay with this position if it is providing your health benefits until you've spoken with EAP/mental health. It's easier to get a new position if you are currently working

Best wishes moving forward.

If I had to rank the urgency of your problems, the worsening mental health is tops. Can you get an appointment for a physical and mental health workup ASAP? Make good and generous use of any paid time off.

Trouble is, even if you quit this job, there will be the stress of unemployment, stress of the job hunt, interviews, and the stress of starting a new job all over again. You need to be in better shape to start another job.
