Hi yes your GN permit is expired and are no longer permitted to care for patients in a GN capacity. I was asked to see my manager in private and she told me my permit was null and void. I was asked to leave the unit asap. I was mortified and just cried. i have taken the nclex 3 times now and still no RN. I'm also in PA. Philadelphia area.

hey, yea i just posted a reply to u in another thread!!! i graduated in may of 2006 and still have not passed...my managers didnt even know i took it the last few times! im sure they dont care cuz we're so short staffed with the techs on my floor anyway! it's best off not telling ANYONE ANYTHING, that's what i did when i took it last week...i told 2 people total!!! the one i told was the one that brought it to my attention that my GN permit was now listed as being 'null and void' and not 'expired' i just dont know what to think!! go on the website and check yours..it should say expired. and then check someone that passed..their GN says null and void' and there's a RN license issued

Hey Everybody...
OK so I'm waiting to see if i passed on my 6th attempt. One of my friends brought it to my attention that the status of my Graduate Nurse Practice Permit is "null and void" (this is the state of PA by the way.) When you fail, your status is "expired" and when you pass, there is a Registered Nurse license issued, which is listed under your GN one, and the status of your GN permit goes to "null and void." Does anyone think this is odd? Like, did I pass or what?!?! Did anyone hear about this before? If so, I'd love to hear your input!! Thanks!!
