Statistics Class

For the BSN, we need a statistics class. What exactly is this class and is it hard? We can either take a Math stat class, psyc stat class or a soc. stat class.

Take the soc stats. It'll be more useful because the instructor'll relate it to things you'll need to know in nursing-how to evaluate research, and how to read a research paper to know whether it's any good. When you think about evidence-based practice, and having to justify what you do, not to mention all those "we've always done it this way" you will see the value to that.

I just finished a statistics for nursing and it was not hard at all.. IF you have a good professor. You will learn about a T test, Paired t test and a bunch of others test that all determine the patterns, averages, standard deviations, mean and more in a selected group of data, and you will be able to identify imporant key points.

Its confusing at first but do as many practice questions as you can and you will get the hang of it.

I am NOT a math person, and was so worried about stats - but honestly, it wasn't that bad at all. I actually took mine online and passed with flying colors. It's not so much math as it is definitions and application.
