I'm doing a nutrition assessment assignment, and we need to document the type of diet the patient consumes. My subject has a normal diet with no restrictions...but we aren't supposed to use descriptives such as "normal" or "average", so what do I put? American diet? Balanced diet? All I've found in my text is references to liquid, soft, low-sodium etc diets. Any suggestions would be much appreciated!

We use "regular diet" here as well, but have heard "non-restrictive" used as well.
Thank you both so much, 'Regular' should do it! :yelclap:

Regular diet as tolerated.
On a funny note, one of my classmates put down 'full liquid' diet for a patient admitted due to complications r/t chronic alcohol abuse. We thought it was hilarious. Our instructor was less than amused
