State of CA CNS vs. NP

Are they the same in California? Does anyone know? Can CNS also prescribe meds, diagnose, etc?

Specializes in Psych, Pulmonary.

I know the a CNS in psych can prescribe once they fufill all requirements.

In oklahoma CNS's can apply for prescriptive authority within their specialities

Does anyone know the status of CNS in Tennessee? I've tried to research this, but I cannot find specific wording that explains whether or not CNS have prescriptive authority, ability to diagnose, interpret tests, etc. I did find info that stated CNS were included in the APN category, but not much else info,

I know that psych CNSs are eligible for Rx authority (if they meet the educational requirements and apply for the expensive certificate from the TN BON), but I don't know if that applies to other specialties as well.
