U.S.A. Texas

Hi I will be going to Ft. Worth for a summer Externship at Cooks Childrens Hospital. Anyone have any suggestions where I should live, or how to find a nice sublet or roommate? I am coming from out of state and have never even been there before. Thanks

The area around Texas Christian University is nice, clean, and full of college-age people. It is also not too far from Cooks. There are plenty of apartments and oversized houses in the area where people rent rooms out. In addition, the southwest part of Fort Worth is nice and has rooms for rent, a bunch of convenient shopping, and easy freeway access to interstates 20, 35, loop 820, and highway 183.

Thanks The Commuter- Is Arlington too far? Any young people there? Any ideas how to find a TCU area sublet? Not many are on Craigslist. I am going in a few weeks and still don't have a place. Thanks.

Arlington is about 15 miles from downtown Fort Worth. Parts of Arlington have younger adults due to having a university.

I second the TCU area, I love that part of town. And congrats on the externship, Cooks is fantastic and it should be a great opportunity for you!

As a life-long resident of Arlington, a graduate of the Univ. of TX Arlington, and a current student of TCU in Fort Worth, I would recommend the TCU area over ANYWHERE in Arlington! You might want to call/email the people at frogleasing.com to see if they have anyone looking for a roommate.

Also, if you can only find a place in Arlington, be sure to stay west of Cooper Street. Anywhere west of Cooper ranges from not bad to very nice. Also, the farther west of Cooper, the closer to Fort Worth!

Thanks everyone. If anyone knows anyone that needs a subleter, let me know. I start the Externship in a few weeks! Never been to Ft Worth, so any great restaurant or other suggestions for people in their 20s, let me know. Thanks.
