I too am starting my classes this month. I have been out of school for 13 years. What is getting me worried the most if just not remembering how to be a student, how to study the right things. I dont really care that im 1 of 4 men in my class or that im 1 of 3 white people in the class either. I was in the Army for 12 years I dont see color or working with woman as a issue. I had schooling in the Army to advance in rank and was always finished with honors, but that was the Army. I know that I am not stupid, but I also know I am not the smartest cookie in the box. I just know that I will have to work harder and longer then most. I hope that my background and my will not to quit will push me thru the rought times ahead. I salute you all for taking this step and looking past the BS that men get for chosing Nursing as thier path in life. Good luck to you all.
I too am a Veteran, and hoping to start this fall. This will be my second career, and I'm looking forward to it. I'm 34 right now, and will be 36 when I graduate.
