I live in pittsburgh which doesn't have a great market for nursing due to the fact there are two hospital systems and the one is buying up everything and putting the other out of business. I hear rumors of being able to make 8-10$ more for similar jobs with similar or lower costs of living. I have about 8 months of nursing in won't be moving for about a year so I will have a year in emergency nursing. I really have no ties here so if I can have more options and also make 10 bucks more an hr I am all for it. I should also have my bachelors by then. I figure starting salaries can give me an idea where would be a good place to go for a newer nurse. Starting salary around here is 20-21$/hr
Please refrain from mentioning the quality of benefits or don't take a job for the money, it doesn't add anything to the discussion. We all know prices, cost of living and benefits vary. Please don't waste time answering a question with a question. I do want to go to gradschool but it seems the salaries don't really make it worth while unless it is CRNA
