Published

Hello, I will be starting N.S in January 2017 for my LVN in Phoenix Az. I'm going to Fortis College. Will anyone else be starting in Jan. I could also use some study tips. I'm so also a mom of three little kids. 2,3,4 I know my hands are going to be full. Any other moms? One here starting LVN school? I'm sooooooo nervous. :cyclops:

Hi!

In my 6th month of an LPN program and I graduate in July.

The best advice I can give you since you've got a full year to prepare would be to buy a anatomy and physiology book and a nursing fundamentals book.

A lot of programs including mine use elsevior books. You can get them cheap online.

You'll be doing yourself a huge favor if you know the ins and outs of all the systems of the body and how they are supposed to function.

Good luck!

CONGRATS ON GETTING SO FAR.

Tips: 1 Get tubes tied

2. Work & Save Money

3. Line up some good babysitters

4. Apply for Scholarships

5. Get Financial Aid Inorder

6. Buy your books ahead of time & start studying them

Time management. I cannot stress this enough. I am a single parent and just finished my first semester of LPN school. I keep a weekly planner to write down assignments, work schedule, and daughters schedule. In addition to a weekly planner I had a monthly one that I kept on my desk at home with all my assignments for the month so that way I could keep up with assignment due dates. Make sure you set aside time to study but also find time for yourself, even if its just a bubble bath. Try not to get behind and reading or studying, space things apart, less stressful.

Good luck.
