Starting LPN wage

Published

HI,

I am new to this site and have really enjoyed reading the post. I will be graduating in Sept 06 and would love to move to the Columbus/Bexley area. I am anxious to start an RN program as soon as I can once I get adjusted and am wondering what type of pay I can expect for new LPNs. Do they pay more if your are IV cert? Any chance of getting a higher rate if you have honers? ( wishful thinking ) THANKS!!!

Specializes in critical care and LTC.

I live about 35 miles north of Dayton (new LPN with IV) and I have heard from bottom scale 13.50 to 17.25 and hour. I like the 17.25 but not enough I'm going for my RN also.

It really depends on where you work at. Hospitals don't pay worth crap. LTC pays around 19 - 21 and hour. Dr's offices pay around 17.00 Dialysis around 19.00 - 21.00. Agency pays more but if you are a new graduate get experience before you try agency. Home Care is through an agency and pays around 24 - 26 a visit.

I work for an agency in Northeast Ohio and I make about 26 an hour.. but I travel to different nursing homes around my area...

Specializes in lots of specialties.

same here if you work PRN for places you can make more also you just have to se what you like.Im in school for my RN also.....I wanna travel nurse during the fall and winter
