I am a LPN student in CA, I'd say
Do: *study either alone or as a group
*take it seriously
*ask questions, if you feel lost
* get the saunders book (study ahead, I heard they added more Pharm to the NCLEX)
Don't: * stress
* put off studying till the last minute
I'd say that so far in my program, I'm over 1/2 way completed, that I have learned a lot and am retaining quite a bit more because of the hands on experiences to go with the in class information.
and most of all DON'T stop there.. use LPN as a stepping stone to get to NP, I have the same goal!!
the steps from LPN/LVN to NP are as follows1. LPN license
2. RN ADN
3. BSN
4. MSN
5. NP cert
or LPN to BSN and BSN to MSN to NP cert.
My list:
Do pray
Do have a study partner
Do show to every lecture
Do meet with instructors for guidance
Don't be late for clinical
Don't participate in gossip
Don't not take time for yourself, family and friends. :D:D
